L'Amour avec de L'Humour. Exceptional, unique handmade album with 64 original, sexually explicit drawings in black ink by a talented naive artists. The sense I get from this collection of drawings is that the artist, Eric Gila, was obsessed with "real life" and drew average people fucking and sucking. It is the sexual "world tour" featuring a postman, students, many "odd" couples, swingers, a boss and secretary, sex at the sex museum, fucking in jail, the tourist couple, the maid, numerous blue collar workers getting laid and much more, including a "weightless fuck" on the a spacecraft!! 

The artist has a particular naive style that depicts most of his characters, that can be best described, as "unattractive". Nonetheless they all appear to love fucking and being fucked!! Attesting to the title written on a label pasted to the red plastic cover, each drawing has a type written, humorous caption in French, most often a play on words. Scans say it best.

Handmade 8 x 12" album with red plastic covers, resembling what was once called "contact paper", used to line kitchen drawers and cabinets; small tear in the plastic at the bottom of the spine. The album sewn signatures were split, almost dis-bound in a few places and carefully glued back together; the insides of the covers were re-taped with archival brown paper tape. The drawings are on medium weight art paper and pasted into the album. Other than the mention repairs to the binding, the album pages and artwork are in very good condition. 

Two labels on the cover: L'Amour Diversifie / Album No. inedit / Total Unites 66 = Diversified Love / Album No. uncensored / Total Units (number of drawings) 66. Note that the album contains 63 original drawings not 66: pages 40/41 are missing and one of the drawings is actually an original photo of a drawing by Gila. 

The title page (see scan) indicates Album No.6 however this is the only album that I have. I was offered other albums by this same artist, which were not numbered, however I purchased this one as it was the most compelling, most perverse and most diversified! A marvelous example of naive erotic art, outsider art, art populaire, art brut, erotic folk art.
