Julia Parton VIP Fan Club (Original metallic club card)

New York: High Society, 1994. Original metallic fan club card for the "Julia Parton VIP Fan Club," entitling cardholder to one free Polaroid per engagement, and 10% off specified club items," member No. 1280. The Fan Club has since dissolved, little documentation available, but this card issued at the height of Parton's success and fame while she headed the adult entertainment magazine, "High Society," one of few women publishers of pornographic magazines. The magazine itself had been running in some variation since the 1950s. No other copies seen but presumably more were issued. 3.5 x 2 inches, round corners, Parton silhouette printed in red, text in black, brushed gold lightweight metal (tin? steel?), thin as a credit card. A few tiny bruises on the verso, else Near Fine. A curious collectible for Parton fan club leftovers. [Book ID 127050]
