This 100% original and never used desktop pin-up calendar has been in my private pin-up and erotica collection for nearly 40 years, and has never been exposed to direct sunlight. It's about as mint as you can find. It's case has an imprint of Spahr Bros in New York City, suppliers of all types of coal. Inside the calendar housing are 12 different pages, each showing the month and a lovely pin-up girl. The only time the calendar pages have been set out and photographed was for this auction.
Based on the artist's style, I suspect they were drawn by Gil Elvgren, however they are not signed. Each does bear what appears to be a commercial company's copywrite/ownership emblem, but it's so small I have not been able to identify it.
These monthly desk calendars are very hard to find with all 12 of the internal pages, as it took some effort to change the pages every month, so 99.9% of the internal pages were simply tossed in the trash. It's fairly easy to find them with only December inside. This calendar came out of the storage room of the original printing company, where it sat for about 30 years until found it. The support stand on the back side was only opened up once, so I could take a photo showing how it works. Size is approximately 6" square.
