These two are dressed in the height of fashion for beachwear, with one showing a lot more leg than was considered precisely proper.  The poem between them is hard to read without enhancing the picture, but it shows that even when Venice Beach was new (it opened just two years before this postcard was mailed), men had certain problems.  The writer of the poem cannot decide between the lady on the left, who is "plump as a plum" (this used to be a compliment) and the lady on the right, who is "sweet as a peach", and complains that there are dozens more just like them.
