Description:  This auction is for a classic vintage male nude photo magazine called “David and His Friends: David Goes Cowboy” Volume 3.  This is the third of a three-volume set of “David and His Friends,” and I am selling all three volumes this week.  Volume 3 contains a photo-illustrated story, featuring David August, and it picks up where Volumes 1 and 2 left off.  In this episode, David goes to a conference in Phoenix where he meets Gregg Bentley at a gay bar.  Gregg invites David to his ranch outside town that he shares with his partner.  David August’s friend Dave Gregory (from Volume 2) is flying into Phoenix to meet him the next day, so the two Davids join Gregg and his partner, George, for a wild weekend at the desert ranch.      

The magazine was published by Parisian Press of San Francisco and the photography is by The Stephens Agency of Hollywood.  There is no copyright date, but the magazine appears to be from the 1970s based on the jargon in the text (groovy, mod) and style of hair and clothing.

The full-size magazine is approximately 8.5” x 11”.  The magazine contains 48 pages including both covers.  Eight pages (including front and back covers) are in color; the rest are black and white.

Condition: The magazine is in excellent condition with minor wear.
