This postcard from the 1990s shows a fifteenth century drawing by Mantegna, known as Bacchanal with Wine Vat.  It is definitely a festival of bacchus: we see at least one stayr in the crowd, along with four putti (the daemones who took the form of small children), all in various stages of intoxication, some no longer capable of any further horseplay.  never mailed, excellent condition
